Emily Irene VanCamp who initially set out to become professional dancer was drawn in acting after visiting her sister Katie on the set of the movie Ladies Room. Alongside learning to act she was also offered the role of a guest on a television show in Canada. A few of the series she was a part of, among other ones included: Are You Afraid of the Dark? Radio Active and Dice. VanCamp made a breakthrough in his career when he was cast in the WB horror-mystery series Glory Days as Sam Dolan. Though receiving positive reviews the series' low ratings ultimately led to it having to be canceled after only nine episodes. Despite her May 12, 1986 birth date she was offered the role of Everwood on its set as Amy Abbott. She was a finalist to win four Teen Choice Awards and a Young Artist Award.
